Bent Tree Ranch started in 2000 in Morgan Mill, TX. My grandfather Jim Pearson purchased the first ranch and that is where the journey began of raising cattle. In 2002 we bought our first registered Angus cattle. We have been 100% registered Angus ever since. We were always, and still are, a relatively small operation. One that my grandpa and I would use as a hobby and getaway when I was growing up. Once I got to college and graduated, I just fell more in love with the Angus world and the people in it. I decided I wanted to take the next step and grow our operation to be more than a hobby. My wife and I took over the operation and became full owners in 2022. Now, Jim and his wife, Linda are loving retirement and getting to watch the other grand kids and now great grand kid grow up.
My name is Cole Carruthers. I now own and operate Bent Tree Ranch. I married my wife, Brianna in 2021, the year after we graduated from Abilene Christian University. I have a degree in finance, and Brianna is a registered nurse.
In November of 2025, we were blessed to bring our first baby boy into the world, Asher Cole, and we can't wait to watch him grow up and become part of this great industry and life we are in currently.
Since 2000, we have moved around some and currently have multiple lease ranches where we run our cattle. We are blessed to have some great partners and friends in the industry as well so we can have more places to raise these cattle.
We are a 100% AI/ET ranch that tries to raise the best cattle that we can raise to produce prime beef for our customers.
Our bulls will sell through Gardiner Angus Ranch in one of their 4 bull sales every year. Our females will sell in Texas Angus sales or other consignment sales throughout the year. We are hoping to have an online sale before too long.
